Mission Statement -:
To provide a Scout and Guide orientated first aid provision for appropriate events on a cost and materials only basis.
Objectives -:
With the expectation of all Scout and Guide Leaders obtaining some form of 1st Aid qualification – to provide a practical environment in which those skills may be used and enhanced by exposure to actual first aid situations in a controlled and supervised environment and thereby to gain confidence in their own abilities.
To build a team of first aiders capable of supplying an appropriate level of first aid cover for any Leicestershire Scout and/or Guide event.
To encourage collaboration with other organisations with a view to learning from their experiences and using their expertise to fill existing skills and equipment deficiencies.
To accumulate sufficient equipment and supplies to be able to service the events
To promote Scouting and Guiding as first class providers of first aid provision at events.
To obtain sufficient sponsorship to enable the first aid provision to be cost neutral
Within the Scout and Guide Association – as obtaining a First Response qualification is mandatory for all warranted Leaders – there is a huge pool of qualified first aiders within the County who never do any first aid in spite of holding the qualification.
The provision of a Leicestershire First Aid Team would provide an environment in which those skills could be practised and enhanced.
With the support and accreditation of both Organisations – Leaders would be encouraged to attend events as part of the First Aid Team |
